SOTECH.OPTIMA Interlocking Wall-Plank

The panels are connected laterally by simply interlocking into a groove, giving the elegant appearance of either a recessed or hairline joint. They are fixed onto extruded aluminium support framework using mechanical fixings, which are concealed in the inside edge on the groove.

Support System
Horizontally laid planks – Wall planks are fixed onto vertical aluminium T-profile extrusion via hands-free brackets. At the joint between panels a choice of recessed or hairline joints are available with secret fixings.

Vertically laid planks - wall planks are fixed onto horizontal aluminium L-profile extrusion via hands- free brackets. At the joint between panels a choice of recessed or hairline joints are available with secret fixings. In the instance of using copper, aluminium support structure must be anodized by avoid any bi-metallic corrosion.

Structure
Design and supply of the structural wall, vapour barrier and wall fixings fall outside the scope of Sotech Limited though recommended suppliers can be offered.

Accommodation of Movement
The support system has adjustability in two axes. Once the support structure has been lined and levelled to compensate for anomalies in the structure, panels are through fixed.

Weather Protection
This wall plank solution is treated as a weather screen its primary function is to protect the structure of the building. The thermal integrity and weatherproofing of the building is managed behind this rainscreen.

It is accepted that a small amount of water ingressmay occur but will be alleviated by evaporation. It is advised that a breathable vapour barrier be used in the ventilated cavity.

Teamwork
The fabrication and installation of all system elements is carried out in accordance with the fabrication instructions that each selected contractor possesses as part of a thorough design, manufacturing and installation guide.


MATERIAL SELECTION:

Pre-coated Aluminium 70/30 PVDF
The excellent chemical and physical properties of the paints used give exceptional resistance against UV light and great protection against weathering.
Warranties can be in excess of 25 years.
A full RAL colour range is available.
Thickness1.0mm–2.0mm (2.71– 5.56kg/m2)

Pre-weathered Zinc
Manufactured from VM ZINC® in compliance with BS EN 988:1997.

QUARTZ-ZINC (light grey pre-weathered)
ANTHRAZINC (dark grey pre-weathered)
0.8mm – 1.5mm thickness (5.76 – 10.84kg/m2)

Natural & Pre-weathered Copper
Produced in accordance with DIN EN 1172, Copper DHP, oxygen-free, phosphorous de-oxidised copper with a degree of purity of 99.9%.
Thickness 0.6 & 1.0mm (5.4 – 8.9kg/m2)

Nordic Brown - The dark brown copper oxide surface resembles natural oxide in appearance and composition. The oxidation is achieved, on both sides, by a combination of thermal and chemical treatment.

Nordic Green Plus - With the pre-patination method various surfaces are achievable. Two of these are available from stock: traditional green and living surfaces.
