All Aluminium Construction?
Joint-straps and fixing clips are fabricated from robust extruded, 6063 T6 grade aluminium. This extruded aluminium support has a series of grooves into which the double EDPM gaskets are fitted. The EDPM gasket acts as both the weather protector, allowing water to drain off away from the wall stopping any moisture from penetrating to the brickwork, and as an anti-rattle device to baffle noise.

Design & Fabrication
Each project is different and although the coping design concept remains the same, all coping and secret-fix support is manufactured to suit each specific design requirement.

To enable design and fabrication to run smoothly, all technical drawings and purchase data documents can be provided via email reducing the overall fabrication time.

Fabricated units including stop-ends, corner units, junction tee-sections and wall abutments shall be welded and dressed smooth in the visible areas.

Metal Finishing
Copings can be supplied to site mill finished. Alternatively: -
Polyester powder coating is factory applied having undergone a rigorous pre-treatment. The process is undertaken by quality assured applicators to BS 6496.
Anodising is factory applied and also undergoes a rigorous pre-treatment. The process is undertaken by quality assured applicators to BS 1615 using the ANOLOK process.
Pre-finished aluminium is available as stock items in metallic silver and white. This material carries a BBA Agrément certificate with a PVDF 70/30 finish applied.
Post-coated aluminium is also available to BS4842.

All coatings are available in a wide range of colours and finishing warranties up to 30 years are available subject to the finishing type employed, colour and the physical and environmental location of the building.

Details for fixing & allowing for Thermal Movement
Clips are fixed directly through to the wall structure at 1000mm centres with M’12 screws. These provide the leveled line for the aluminium coping panel to be clipped over. All fixings are concealed leaving a clean, crisp coping line.

The co-efficient of the linear thermal expansion is 23 x 10-6 per degree centigrade and a gap of 2 – 3mm between each coping flashing section should be allowed. As the coping is not mechanical fixed, it is free to expand and contract with changes in temperature has no detrimental effect on the wall or the aesthetic appearance of the coping.
