Sotech Double Award

The 8th Annual East Durham Business Services Enterprise Awards 2011 was held 16th November 2011.  The Awards is an annual event which celebrates and acknowledges the burgeoning and established businesses alike.

We are pleased to announce we were winners in two categories, ‘Best Brand’ and overall ‘Business of the Year’

Best Brand: Sotech’s whole emphasis of the business during the last three years has been brand awareness.  We have invested in a new brand design, product testing and new literature along with a new website which has since won the Sword of Excellence Award and was nominated for best website category at the Construction Marketing Awards 2011.  Due to the promotion Sotech’s determination and endeavour on all fronts  have secured a number of high profile and major projects with new customers.

EDBS, Business of the Year: This category was selected from all the finalists over the nine award categories.  Sotech impressed the judges with our attention to detail, commitment to succeed, and stood out as the business to watch in future.
 

Stirling Work from Sotech @ Evelyn Grace Academy

Sotech are please to be associated with this Stirling Prize winner.

Architect, Zaha Hadid chose Sotechs IPC system to clad this eye-catching building. A special low gloss finish on the dark silver panels compliments the adjacent glazing, and both elements contrast dramatically with the bright red running track.

The architects must be congratulated on incorporating this 100m outdoor track which runs through and under this school on what otherwise is a land locked urban site.

Sotech also had their challenges on this scheme as the cladding panels are installed at different angles, with very few being the same size. As usual Sotechs team put in a winning performance from their Peterlee manufacturing base.

Website Awards

Our new website has recently WON the prestigious Sword of Excellence Award at the Marketing Excellence Awards for our web designers Harris Associates.

Our website has also been shortlisted in the ‘Best Website’ category at the prestigious Construction Marketing Awards 2011.  The Construction Marketing Awards are highly regarded within the industry and offer a unique measure of excellence in the construction marketing and business development.

Our partners Harris Associates have advised Sotech on Marketing and PR for a number of years and their understanding of all things Sotech shines through.  The website has proven a hit primarily with Architects, Quantity Surveyors, Clients and Installers, but we’ve had interest from virtually all sectors of the Construction Industry Worldwide.

The site is designed to be informative at all levels, and suits either a quick click to look at the latest news and innovations, or a more in depth investigation into the solutions Sotech can provide.

Thru-Wall open-day huge success!

An exclusive launch event for key clients, architects, prospects and industry experts was held on Tuesday 8th March at the premises of key supply chain partner Sotech in Peterlee, County Durham.
The open day featured a full two-storey structural building example constructed in just two and a half days using Thru-Wall and a practical demonstration of the product, technical presentations and the opportunity to speak with key representatives from Lakesmere and Hemsec Installations, who were on hand to answer any questions. Over 100 guests including architects, main contractors and supply chain partners were in attendance and Chris Horsfall commented:

"We expected a good turn out but the volume and quality of the guests surpassed all our expectations. We were delighted with the success of the launch and now look forward to securing a number of new contracts."
